Women's Rights Are Human Rights

Date: June 2023
Client: University Brief
Role: Graphic Designer

Project Type: Installation, Art Direction

In this 2-week brief, we were tasked to create a speculative poster that promoted the Women's Rights are Human Rights exhibition held in the Post Hall Gallery. We were challenged to push the conventions of a typical poster and use materials to reinforce the subject.

My outcome pays homage to archaic gender roles and stereotyping. Using recognisable materials to make a comment in a non-literal manner. The audience is able to read into the outcome as they wish. The outcome also features a mix of hand and machine embroidery.

The typeface used, Edita, is created by the female typeface designer Pilar Cano.
